Your Data and Privacy

Last updated: 9 August 2026

FlockMod is a realtime collaborative drawing site. This page explains what
information we hold about you, why we hold it, and how you can see it, correct
it or have it deleted.

Everything described here is stored on servers located in the
European Union, and is handled under the EU General Data
Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If you want to exercise any of the rights below, or you simply have a
question, write to auto@flockmod.com.
Please send your message from the address linked to your account, or tell us
your username, so we can be sure we are talking to the right person.

What we hold

Your account

  • Your username and, if you gave one, your email address.
  • Your password, stored only as a salted hash. We never see it and cannot recover it.
  • The date you registered and the date you last signed in.
  • A security question and answer, if you set one.
  • Your account settings, group and whether your email has been verified.

IP addresses

  • The IP address used when you registered and when you sign in.
  • Failed sign-in attempts, so we can stop people breaking into accounts.
  • The IP address recorded alongside each image uploaded to the gallery.

IP addresses are kept because they are the only practical way to enforce bans
and to deal with abuse and illegal uploads.

What you create

  • Drawings you upload to the gallery, together with their tags, titles and scores.
  • Comments you post.
  • Private messages you send or receive through the site inbox (also known as
    FlockMod Messenger).
  • Reports you submit, and moderation records such as warnings or bans that apply to you.

Drawings made in a room are shared with the other people in that room while
you draw. Public rooms can be joined by anyone.

What we do not keep

Chat in drawing rooms is not stored. What you type in a room
is passed straight to the other people in that room. It is not written to our
servers and it is not kept in any log. Once the conversation is over, no copy of
it remains.

The same goes for private chat between users in a room: it passes through and
is gone.

This is not the same thing as the site inbox (FlockMod Messenger)
listed above. The inbox is a mailbox, so those messages are stored on purpose —
otherwise you could not come back later and read them. If you want a message to
leave no trace, use the chat; if you want it waiting for someone, use the inbox.

Cookies

  • Necessary cookies keep you signed in and remember your
preferences, including your cookie choice. The site cannot work without them,
so they do not require consent.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) count visits and show
us which pages are used. They are not loaded unless you allow them.
If you refuse, they are never set; if you change your mind, existing analytics
    cookies are deleted.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookies
button in the bottom-left corner of any page.

Why we are allowed to hold it

  • To provide the service you asked for — your account, your
drawings, your messages. Without this data there is no site.
  • Our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe — IP
addresses, sign-in attempts and moderation records, used to stop abuse, ban
    evasion and illegal content.
  • Your consent — analytics only. You may withdraw it at any
time, as easily as you gave it.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.

  • Our hosting provider stores the servers and files on our
behalf, inside the European Union. They act only on our instructions.
  • Google Analytics receives usage data, and only if you have
    allowed analytics cookies.
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to respond, or
    where content is illegal.

How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account exists.
  • Uploaded drawings and comments: while they remain published.
  • Sign-in and security logs: a limited period, to investigate abuse.
  • Ban records: while the ban is in force, and afterwards where needed to stop it being circumvented.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • See your data — get a copy of everything we hold about you.
  • Correct it — fix anything inaccurate.
  • Delete it — remove your account and your data. Note that we
may keep the minimum needed to enforce a ban, and that drawings made
collaboratively in a room may remain as part of another person’s work.
  • Restrict or object — ask us to stop certain uses of it.
  • Take it with you — receive it in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — turn analytics off, at any time.

Write to auto@flockmod.com and we will
reply within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with our answer

You have the right to complain to the data protection authority in the EU
country where you live or work. You can find yours through the European Data
Protection Board.

Younger users

We do not ask your age when you sign up, and we do not try to guess it.

Across the EU, the age at which you can agree to analytics cookies on your own
varies by country, between 13 and 16. If you are younger than that where you live,
please ask a parent or guardian before choosing “Allow analytics”. Nothing else
changes either way, and refusing analytics costs you nothing.

If you are a parent or guardian and want to see what we hold about your child,
have it corrected, or have it deleted, write to
auto@flockmod.com. Tell us the username and
we will help.

Changes

If this page changes in any way that affects you, we will update the date at
the top and, where the change is significant, ask for your cookie choice again.
