Anonymous: @PartyCat: indeed, the issue everywhere has always been adults among children rather than children among adults, hence the solution Roblox came up with, of segregating age groups rather than simply locking out 18+ lobbies from children. an adult among a group of young people has many more victims to pick from and can very easily pretend to be younger without being noticed or called out by any other adults about their grooming. to successfully groom a victim in an environment of highly aware people would take a lot of accomplices or in the very least apathy by the observers

there is not a lot you can do to "protect" someone that already chooses to go to an 18+ spot from the potential "corruption" that it may cause them, because they are already making the choice of being there themselves in the first place. that is, by definition, not grooming; you are telling them with a red alert that they are not welcome and not to engage and they are choosing to do so anyway, quite the opposite of "grooming". the most you can realistically do to them is to educate about the potential issues they may encounter and why they should reconsider being there or in the very least to be very cautious while in such places. the more you shun them with total blockades the more curious they will get and the more they will rebel, eventually encountering a place which will allow them, which might be one that is actually filled with people that won't have all that much interest in any educational portion in all of this...

Flockmod itself is arguably an example of this, considering it is one of the more unknown sites that kids end up to that is not detected by any of their internet school/NSFW filters, and yet it is arguably less safe than a minor using Discord or browsing Pornhub, considering it has almost no moderation of any kind and allows anonymous and easy interaction between people. it is a tale as old as time... you will never stop curious minors from NSFW content no matter how hard you try. what you will do is displace them somewhere else, which might be an even worse place

and now... how do you prevent adults in children environments? you pretty much can't without extreme measures. Youtube entirely blocks comments in videos dedicated to children. Roblox uses facial age recognition and age segregation, which is an extreme invasion of privacy and full of issues, such as a family not being able to play with their own family members with age gaps. and even this is NOT reliable because pedos now buy age-verified accounts that will give them the age groups they want and which will also guarantee that no adults will ever see whatever messages they are sending around children, which is in fact a groomer's dream, to be able to interact and manipulate without any aware eyes to stop them...

which really tells you in the end that.... nothing will really replace good parenting and education. without major freedom and privacy limiting measures you will not stop malevolent people and even then you might just make things worse.

.

and about this moronically slanderous and ignorant post (which i assume is about lolicon artists), I'd estimate that maybe 3% of the regulars of the room draw that type of stuff while the majority of the users strongly dislikes it. the reason it is allowed is not over "support" over such content, but out of the neutral principle the room was initially created over, which was to serve as an unofficial lobby of the site, which indeed has no content rules. even then, to draw such art does not automatically make someone a dangerous person. one of the most controversial users, cntrct, has been on flockmod for 14 years without any accusations of inappropriate behaviour towards users and exclusively draws in NSFW rooms, being also one of the most vocal users about banning minors and advocating for the 18+ gallery filter and official 18+ room tags.

tl;dr if you are worried about lolicons drawing in nsfw rooms, you are worried about the wrong people
